Victimized Sheep

Victimized means: To make a victim of by deception. Are you one of these victims that preachers, teachers and false prophets are exploiting for profit? Or perhaps you are one that thinks you can never be deceived. Some teach that God wants you rich, while others will prophesy to you the wonderful things you want to hear. If they can make your flesh feel good and have you jumping up and down, you will give a bigger offering. I have been there and done that.

When I thought about the word victimized, I thought how appropriate for those that call themselves Christians today. Most of the so-called body of believers today just sit and listen to whatever comes out of the mouths of so-called preachers and accept everything they say as gospel, too afraid to say anything for fear of being rebuked. Most do not know the difference between false gospel and God’s Truth. Whatever televangelists say is okay by their followers, just so long as it makes them feel good. It never dawns on them that what they are hearing or seeing could be false.

Many, many, years ago I was caught up in the health, wealth, name it and claim it, confession gospel. I thank God that He gave me the discernment to know how false all that is. And all I am asking you to do is make certain you are getting the Truth from God’s Word and not being victimized. Anything less will not get you to heaven.

The gospel of Matthew, chapter 24, verse 11 says,

  • ”…many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."
  • The word "many" in the Greek means largest number, very great, or major portion, which says that the masses are going to be deceived in these last days. You don't want to be one of them, do you? Of course you don't.

Does God’s lost lambs not know that Jesus said “many” believers would be deceived in the last days by false prophets? Self-proclaimed prophets of today are living like celebrities and preaching a false gospel while leading their followers down a path of destruction.

Over the years I have seen much of the corporate body of believers, called the Church, deceived, defrauded and victimized. They have become the laughing stock of Christians and non-Christians alike. I have seen the Word of God twisted, lied about, pulled out of context, perverted and prostituted. God's sheep (Believers) are being victimized every day. Why? For their money.

For many years now, much of the preaching has been leading many people to believe the Supreme Being of our universe, the God of the Bible, to be nothing more than a genie in a lamp. To some, God’s sole purpose for existing is to grant their every hearts desire. They believe as the “King’s Kids” they should not face any adversity, and never, ever tolerate poverty. They use the name of Jesus much the same as a magician would use abra-ka-dabra or hokus pokus. They live a carnal life seeking the temporal things of this world and still expect to grow spiritually and wield the name of Jesus effectively. When they pray, it is like rubbing the magic lamp and they expect God, like a genie, to appear and bestow upon them their wishes. Then He is expected to quietly return to His lamp, until such time as there is another desire or need. It seems many Believers love to be lied to and victimized (Jer. 5:31).

I do not find in my Bible a gospel that gratifies the flesh or tolerates mixing the demonic with the godly, despite the fact that most people are comfortable with that interpretation. God will not jump through one’s hoop to satisfy a selfish desire, no matter how His Word is twisted or perverted. I do not find, in my Bible, a God that exists to serve His people, but I do find a people that were created and exist to serve and worship God.

In the Church of today I find most so-called Christians living like the world, seeking any means, even the Bible, as a way to acquire the knowledge to achieve financial and material wealth. I find, for the most part, a Church that is carnal, retarded, quite powerless and no longer knows what to do when confronted with its greatest enemy, Satan and his demons. It breaks God's heart to see so many of His children victimized.

I always try to teach or write messages that will help believers, myself included, grow spiritually; after all, that is what God expects of us. His desire is that His children grow up. The Holy Spirit’s job on earth is to help God’s children become mature Christians. Jesus said in 1st Peter to desire the milk of the Word that we might grow.

As our children begin to grow, they go from milk to stronger foods; from sitting to crawling; and then walking. Then to school so they can get an education and become responsible adults.

There is a growth pattern to the physical and there is a growth pattern to the spiritual. First we begin to desire the milk of the Word and later we are into the meat of God’s Word. Once our children begin to walk and investigate things, we parents, if we love our children, find a need to apply rules so they will know what we, as parents, expect of them.

After laying down rules and principles for our children, sometimes we have to enforce those rules to make our kids see things our way. Sometimes they never see things our way, but see us as unfair or too strict. Still until they reach a certain age, they should obey and yield to the parents will. After all, as parents, we are “supposed” to know what is best for our offspring.

Is it so strange that God loves, guides, nourishes, teaches and disciplines His children so they, too, will grow to spiritual maturity? He is our creator so He certainly knows what is best for us. If we do not acquire a certain amount of spiritual maturity, it is easy to be victimized and we cannot function properly in our spiritual walk or in the family of God.

Part of our spiritual maturity is learning to face adversity with faith in a living God Who is still in control of all things. Our goal should be to live a life pleasing to our Lord and be ready to meet Him face to face when that time comes. The Bible says the five fold ministry (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers) is for the perfecting (making perfect; bring to maturity) of the saints. That is what my teaching and writing is all about. Helping myself and others mature in Christ.

The Bible teaches, to walk effectively in spiritual authority or power, one must live a holy life, pleasing to God, submitting everything to Him. Spiritual authority is not for personal gain, but to help the believer resist Satan and help others. To live a life pleasing to God one must accept instruction and correction from the Holy Spirit.

Much of the time this instruction and correction comes through God’s appointed, anointed ministers. That is why it is crucial for everyone to always make sure the minister bringing forth the Word knows the truth of God’s whole counsel; is preaching it and living by it. I encourage everyone to always check what the minister is saying with God’s Word. See if it lines up with the whole counsel of God’s Word, not just a scripture here and there that has been pulled out of context.

The messages I write are given to me by the Holy Spirit, not to condemn, but to instruct on “how to” conform to God’s Word and God’s ways. In the past decades we have had entirely too many books on sensational subjects and not enough that will truly help the Believer in their daily walk with God. The writings I do are not directed toward sensationalism, but “how to” messages designed to help keep you from being victimized. This will also help you grow spiritually and understand “how to” discern the godly from the ungodly in the Church today.

There are many “how to” Christian books written today and I believe in “how to” books as long as they conform to the whole counsel of God’s Word. The Bible is a “how to” book. “How to” receive forgiveness for our sins; “how to” be born into the family of God, “how to” be baptized, and instruction about “how to” live our lives according to God’s commandments. The messages I commit to paper or on my website are written to help us further understand God’s “how to” book called the Bible.

I just pray you will accept these messages in the spirit they were written, which is a spirit of love and deep concern felt for the Church in these last days. I get angry when I see so many led astray and victimized.

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: ...."

    Second Peter 2:1-3

That means they tell a person what that person wants to hear for their money. They do this through counterfeit doctrines and miracles. Damnable heresies will damn your soul to hell!
