The Enemy

Adversary, Devil

The Personal Supreme Spirit of Evil

THE ONE WHO SEEKS IN ACTIVE WARFARE TO DESTROY EVERY CHRISTIAN

Webster's dictionary says,
"An enemy stresses antagonism whether it shows itself in hatred or intense dislike or in a destructive attitude or action."

Yep, I would say that sounds like our enemy, Satan.

A modernistic preacher announced in defending his liberal theological position, "I'm not afraid of the Devil."
"That is not what matters so much." one of his acquaintances replied. "Let me ask you a more important question: Is the Devil afraid of you?"

Is the devil afraid of us? That is a question each of us should ponder. If we do not have a substantial amount of spiritual maturity I don't believe we have much effect on Satan, therefore he does not fear us. The devil never fears us. He only fears God's Word and the authority with which it is used.

We all have things the devil throws at us. Conflicts, problems and exhausting situations are as numerous as there are people. Since everyone has them it is important to understand Satan and his demons and how they operate. The devil seems to target Christians more than anyone else. But Christian and non-Christians alike have inward and outward battles. We are all tossed and turned--pushed and pulled between the good and bad. The rich and the poor, the small and great, the important and the insignificant all know about conflicts and struggles.

We have all faced frightful days and/or nights. We are torn by uncertainties, fear tries to dominate us. We doubt ourselves and are afraid of failure. We don't go to friends for help because we don't want them to know what we are going through. When in reality, they may be going through the same thing. Sometimes we act like cowards, we wring our hands and wonder why all these terrible things are happening.

Some of our situations are our own fault. But many of our problems are because Satan has zeroed in on us. Whether our own fault or because the devil has singled us out, our troubles come from the spiritual realm.

First Peter 5:8 says, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

And Ephesians 6:12-13 says, 12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

The Bible tells us spiritual warfare is a reality. Our enemy is not other people, sometimes our enemy is ourselves. But I want to deal with Satan, our real enemy, a sinister, evil, unseen devil that marshalls every device he knows, every trick, and every tactic he has ever used. He knows all about us. He knows how to terrorize us and make us worry and fret.

It's Lucifer, the devil, Satan that causes all our worries, and the key phrase here is, IF WE LET HIM. Our victories are won or lost in the spiritual realm before they are won or lost in the earthly realm.

The devil is furious because he knows his time is coming to a close and he is running wild spreading sin and drugs among our children. Adults are living in all kinds of sin and many so-called Christians are no better. Let's get serious with God, stop playing church and get on our knees and pray for those that are not saved. We need another great move of God. What do you think? If you think I am right, go to contact us and send me an email. I would like to hear from you.

The only way we can defeat the devil is through the spirit realm. You can do this, but it takes reading and understanding God's Word. Then you can come against Satan with the word of God. Words you can place your trust in. Your ability to do this is through the Holy Spirit. Let's read it.

" Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts."

Then you will need to cover yourself with the armour of God. Read Ephesians 6:10-18 and learn about this armour.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

You stand on Scriptures like.....Matthew 18:18-19,"18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."

Matt. 21:22 "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
Ask Jesus to help you understand His Word, He will.

Mark 16:17, "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;"

John 15:16, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."

In Jesus' name is the only way to cast out the devil or demons. In the name of Jesus is the only way we go forth in the power of the Holy Spirit. We will never defeat Satan in our own power or strength. He is not afraid of us, only the Word of God as we speak it in faith. When we act in the name of Jesus, speaking the Word of God, then Satan is afraid of us.

Even Jesus had a confrontation with Satan. He defeated him with the Word of God. That is the way we defeat Satan. (See Matthew 4:1-11 or Luke 4:1-13.)

Greatest Unused Power

An American with an English gentleman was viewing the Niagara whirlpool rapids, when he said to his friend: "Come, and I'll show you the greatest unused power in the world." And taking him to the foot of Niagara falls, "There," he said, "is the greatest unused power in the world!" "Ah, no my brother, not so!" was the reply. "The greatest unused power in the world is the Holy Spirit of the living God."
--A. J. Gordon

I wish for you the spiritual maturity from reading and searching God's Word that you can recognize demonic activity and stop it in Jesus name

God Bless You!
