Prayer

When your heart is heavy and burdened with care
Go talk to God in earnest prayer
He’s our never failing source of supply
If we only believe and on Him rely.

He knows our every thought and need
He’s no respecter of person, of color, or creed
An all wise God we can’t deceive
If we want life eternal we must believe.

God’s loving protection to all is free
Christ died on the cross for you and me
His yoke is easy, His burden is light
If we only believe and try to do right.

He knows we weak mortals were conceived in sin
That’s why we must all be born again
To be born of the spirit we must lay aside
All malice, hatred, envy and pride.

They were never a part of the spiritual man
And they have no place in God’s divine plan
If we want to be grateful for God’s loving care
Let’s go tell Him so, in earnest prayer!

Into The Day

I got up early one morning
And rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
I didn't have time to pray.

Troubles just tumbled about me
And heavier came each task.
Why doesn't God help me, I wondered,
He answered, "You didn't ask."

I tried to come into God's presence,
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"Why child, you didn't knock."

I wanted to see joy and beauty,
But the day toiled on grey and bleak,
I called on the Lord for the reason--
He said, "You didn't seek."

I wake up early this morning
And paused before entering the day,
I had so much to accomplish
That I had to take time to pray.
