Earths Last Days
The last days we speak of are the last few years before Jesus comes to put down all rebellion and usher us into a millennium or a thousand years of peace under the reign of Jesus Christ. The rapture or catching away of the Church (Christians) will occur sometime between now and that time (I Thess.4:13-17) . The Bible tells us the last days will be frightening times. Many things that are happening in the world today indicate we are certainly living in very fearful times. Disasters such as earthquakes, tornadoes, flooding, snowstorms and freezing weather in the extreme are reported daily in the news. Many people have already lost loved ones as well as all their possessions in past disasters. Prices on everything are skyrocketing and I wonder how long people will be able to endure without loosing everything. Timothy tells us in chapter 3, verse 1 that in the last days perilous times will come, and I believe everyone will admit they are here. Peter tells us in his second book, chapter 3, verse 3 that scoffers will be here denying that Christ came and will be living after their own lusts. Is that not true in our society today? The Church, as well as the happenings in the world, is a good place to recognize the approaching end time. The apostle John warned us that in the final years of time, there will be many false prophets and teachers that possess the antichrist spirit. These will appear in the Church and deceive many (I John 2:18). Matthew and Mark tell us the same thing and even go so far as to tell us these false prophets and teachers will perform great signs and wonders that will deceive the masses (Matt. 24:22 & Mk. 13:22). There will be within the Church a great falling away (II Thess. 2:3). You might ask, “a falling away from what”? They will turn away from their faith; their walk with God. I believe we are right in the middle of that falling away now. We can also find in Rom. 9:33 and I Peter 2:6-8 that Jesus also will be an offense to the sinner. He is the cornerstone which Christians build their live on or a stone which sinners trip over because, in their disobedience, they refuse to believe in Christ. Many reading this will say they do not believe all this Bible stuff and they consider it nonsense. Do you know it does not matter what you believe. Do you not realize you could be wrong? The Bible declares the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). Do you want to gamble with hell? There are entirely too many so-called Christians flirting with disaster and lurking around the edges of truth. Multitudes are submerged in half-truths and don’t know they are lost. If you are going to stake your salvation on what false prophets and teachers tell you, instead of the Bible, then you better be prepared to suffer the consequences. Are you going to accept what every televangelist and pastor tells you as the truth, or know what your Bible says? My Bible tells me to beware of false prophets and teachers in the last days which say they are anointed of God, when, in truth, they are ravening, voracious wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matt. 7:15). You understand that “sheep” are Christians that Shepherds are suppose to be caring for. If a minister comes in sheep’s clothing, that person has come to deceive. They will look like the sheep, talk like the sheep and probably act more holy than most Christians. Behind their façade will be lurking satanic motives to further their fame and fortune. They will have a message that will be pleasing to your flesh. Don’t become entangled in false doctrine that will lead you astray. Don’t believe everything you see, hear or read without checking it out in the whole counsel of God’s Word. There are such things coming upon the earth in the last days that will cause men’s hearts to fail. There will be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; nations will be distressed and perplexed; the sea and the waves will roar (Luke 21:25). Even the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then Luke says in 21:27-28 we shall see the Son of man (Jesus) coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. During these last days, only Jesus and His Holy Spirit will be the only things to see us through to the end. If you don’t know Jesus, you can right now. Just bow your head and tell Him you are sorry you have sinned against Him, then ask Him to come into your heart and be your Savior and Lord. He will.
