In The Hands Of A Loving Heavenly Father

To be in the hands of our loving heavenly Father is where many people, myself included,  consider the very best place to be.  To have Him in total control of one's life is what gives us the peace Jesus talked about in John 14:26-27.  Let's read it.

26"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

The Comforter or Holy Ghost in baptismal measure is most important and not to be neglected. He is the One sent by our heavenly Father to live in our hearts to be an ever present help.  He is our Paraclete or Helper on earth and Jesus is our Paraclete or helper in heaven.  The Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost will teach us the truth that is in God's Word if we ask Him to do so and our mind and heart seeks truth.

Jesus said He would give us His peace.  The kind Jesus is talking about is what we receive when and if we place Him in total control of our lives.  And when I say total control, I mean control of everything that touches our lives.  We don't do anything until we first get an okay from Him.  The okay may be a comfortable feeling about going ahead but if it is not okay we should have a very uncomforable feeling about what we are about to do.  If we question whether we should go ahead with anything, that could be our check from the Holy Spirit. When in doubt, don't.

When troubles come we don't stop trusting God.  That is when we should really be determined to trust Him.  Perhaps God is only stretching our faith.  But if we feel we should do something about the problem, we can go right ahead and if God is not directing us, we will get a check.  A check, according to Webster's Dictionary, means "a sudden interruption in progress, a rebuff or repulse."  It will just be a feeling about what we are doing that makes us very uncomfortable about proceding.  It means to stop or slow down and think about it. Sometimes God says, "Be still and know that I am God."

"The prophets encouraged God's people to trust God alone.  They firmly believed that God is the Almighty Ruler of the universe and the moral Governor of the world. He controls all things for the good of those who love Him. Therefore God's people should obey Him and not fear.  The prophets also urged the people of God to know, believe and practice God's Word."  The Bible Almanac, page 349.

Understanding the Word of God and obeying the Holy Spirit is being in the hands of a loving heavenly Father.  Psalms 17:7-8 says,

7"Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. 8Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings."

This says there are three blessings for those who trust in Him.  First, being a recipient of the Fathers marvellous lovingkindness.  Second, being kept from harm.  Third, being hid in in the shadow of His wings.

John 10:27-29 says,

27"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

If we are Christians, then we belong to Jesus and this says He gave us eternal life and we will never perish. We know His voice and follow Him. His voice is His Word, the Bible. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can pluck us our of His hand and Father God is greater than anything that might try to take us out of His hand.

Our Father God is greater than any power of men, the devil, fallen angels, demons or anything else that might try to come against us, so there is no danger of being snatched from His hands.  One can walk away from Jesus if he or she chooses.

The word "pluck" means pull, tug, remove, rip away, steal, or draw.  If we love the Lord and are commited and determined to follow Him we should make ourselves aware of the devil and his ways and resist him when the need arises.

When Jesus' work on the cross was finished, He commended His Spirit into the hands of the Father.

That lets me know there is no safer place than in the hands of my heavenly Father.  I am His child and I expect Him to take care of me.  Do you know that if you so desire you, too, can place yourself and everything that touches you in the hands of our wonderful loving heavenly Father. All you have to do is tell God you want Him to be in complete control of your life and everything that touches you.  When you do this you must mean it with all your heart, for God will take you at your word, and do what you are asking.  You will be amazed, at times, the way you will see God work in your situations.  God is pleased when His children place that much trust in Him and it is exciting to see God work in the lives of those who trust Him.

Jesus said in John 14:27,

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Proverbs 3:5-6 says,
5"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he whall direct thy paths."

I wish for you the determination to place God in control of your life. He said, "Come, Follow me" and that is where you will find peace and blessings.

God Bless You!
