Deceived? Not Me!

Deceived? Most will say, “Not me!” No one wants to admit they are deluded. But multitudes are being victimized by false teachers and self-proclaimed prophets today. They are being fed a false gospel for their hard earned money. Second Peter, 2:1-3 says that false teachers will, with feigned (counterfeit) words, make merchandise of you. What does that mean? It means they will sell you a bill of goods (a false gospel) for your money. Whatever you want to hear, is what they will tell you. They will even prophesy falsely to you for your donations.

There are a great many people in the world that are deceived about one thing or another. But no deception is as harmful as “spiritual deception” for that path leads to hell. There are many false teachers and self-proclaimed prophets in the world today and they are twisting, perverting and prostituting God’s Word. Why? Because it is so profitable. And the problem with God’s people today is that most will no longer listen to anyone unless they are preaching a flesh pleasing gospel.

Deuteronomy in the Old Testament, chapter 11, verse 16 says:

”Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;”

God in His Word tells us not to be deceived. Let’s read it. Gal. 6:7-8.

”Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

Every person will reap what they sow and will be held responsible for his or her own destiny. It is absurd to believe you will reap life eternal when you are listening to false gospel.

First Timothy 4:1 tells us that in the latter times, some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. In this midnight hour in which we live, preachers and lay people, alike, are being deceived by seducing spirits and doctrine of devils.  Teachers and preachers  are spouting false twisted scripture and the devil is supplying false miracles.

How will you know the difference between the false and the genuine? You must read and study God’s Word so you will know the true from the false. God’s Word says to study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

The false gospel so many preach today is one of no repentance, no judgment, just come and accept Jesus and get everything He has for you. After all, God is love. Yes, God is love, but that love will not reach beyond the blood of Jesus and His cross on judgment day. 

Heb. 10:29 says, ”Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, and unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”

God takes the sacrifice of His Son very seriously. We should too if we want to make Heaven our final home.
